ABOUT US

Urban Synergy is a development company located in Downtown Kingsport, Tennessee specializing in historic preservation and urban luxury to revitalize downtown.

Centralized in Kingsport’s historic Model City, our unprecedented energy brings new life into the Tri Cities region. The city’s downtown social scene includes unique local shops, tasty eateries, engaging entertainment destinations and much more. Kingsport is lush with sparkling rivers, picturesque mountains, and parks full of wildlife just waiting to be explored. Living and working within Downtown Kingsport provides residents with a sense of home and adventure that never ceases to amaze. 

The Urban Synergy office is located in the Progress Building, right on Broad Street, to stand as part of the history we are wanting to encourage.  Since our beginning in 2001, we have restored over 150,000 square feet of urban renewal and are continuing to flourish while Kingsport prospers with us. We currently own a variety of properties, which have created a noticeable amount of jobs throughout the Downtown district.  Buying and reconstructing local property allows our company the opportunity to oversee our projects for all management purposes. We oversee development by utilizing our company’s resources and subcontracting local specialists to provide and assist with redevelopment needs.

We’re devoted to researching and finding new and innovative ways to construct beautiful designs that fashion their own trend. With a dynamic team of dedicated development specialists, we have created techniques to style ideal spaces, from residential and retail spaces, to restaurants, offices, and more. We focus on showcasing prominent historical features with an upscale modern twist that will captivate customers, clients or guests. Our mission is to highlight what is beautiful and minimize what is not. 

We choose to work with a building’s existing architectural features by restoring and repurposing the present materials. This includes, but is not limited to, hardwood refinishing, acid staining concrete, and polishing terrazzo stone. Other refinishing capabilities include wall placement design, transformed window restoration, and unique millwork to add that special urban curb appeal. We leave the ceilings exposed to preserve the industrial atmosphere while maintaining the building’s infrastructure.   

Angela Vachon is the CEO and primary developer at Urban Synergy.  She is a trailblazer for self-investing and showcases great appreciation for what this area has to offer. Her perseverance and unique style encourages others to thrive when working with her. This creative and energizing influence is present in a variety of buildings throughout the Downtown area. Each worker employed to Urban Synergy has an enthusiastic drive to work as a team and complete tasks in an interconnected manner. Our Mission Statement

At Urban Synergy, we believe that cities can change for the better—not by expanding every inch of available soil—but by embracing Smart Growth principles and energizing at the core, Downtown.

Our focus is to reutilize the art of the architecture brought forth by Kingsport’s founding leaders and continue with the growth of inner-city regeneration.  By acquiring and investing in the neglected spaces throughout the downtown area, we can provide a sense of regrowth to the town we call home. Believing that historical craftsmanship is alive and well allows the opportunity for continuous growth to be a new form of commerce that benefits everyone in Kingsport.   

The urban style created within our designs showcases solid hardwood beams, concrete floors, brick walls, and the industrial character that this town was founded upon.  We introduce you to build-to-suit buildings for personalized functions of self-investing. We pride ourselves the leaders in our city for urban business and residential loft developments. By applying several key Main Street principles, we hope to create a town with many opportunities for socializing. From supporting the Downtown Sculpture Walk to implementing safer roundabouts for vehicles and pedestrians, we work together as citizens of Kingsport to capture the pride of where we live and work. 

Working in cooperation with the City of Kingsport and various civic groups, developers, investors, business leaders and residents, we have changed the way people look at our great city.  At Urban Synergy we work hard to invest not just in our business but also in the resources that make our city prosper. Understanding the city’s 10-year plan is something we focus on within our own future endeavors.
